Scout Badge Programs
Hunkapi’s Horse 101 Course has all your troop needs to fulfill the Horse Fan or Horse Lover Badge requirements. From riding to history…our instructors will make sure they answer all your troops’ questions. Our Scout checklist, which is provided at sign up, insures your troop’s Horse 101 course has a syllabus containing exactly what they need to receive the desired badge. Hunkapi offers three programs to serve horse loving scouts of all ages and abilities. All programs include:
- Mandatory safety, grooming, and leading
- All riding equipment including helmets
- Horse 101 Course certificates
- Pre-outing call with Hunkapi staff to review scout check list and needs
Option 1-Single Badge at Hunkapi Barn
Price set at booking & includes:
- 1 instructor per 8 participants
- 1 horse per 2 individuals (up to 24)
- 1 horse per 3 individuals (up to 30)
- Snacks and water
- Hunkapi Work Book (Additional $2 pp)
- Basic horse grooming, safety, leading included in each session. Remainder of session determined at booking
- Hunkapi Certification upon completion
Pricing: Minimum 5, Max 40 participants
Groups 8-10: $15 per hour each (recommend 2 hours)
Groups 10-25:$12 per hour each (recommend 2-3 hours)

Option 3-Single or Double Badge Camping Trip
Earn two badges at once….camping and horse! You set up camp and we’ll bring the horses to you. The first day will be safety and riding. The second day we’ll hit the trails! Hunkapi will do as much as we can to make this as easy as possible for the troop leader!
Valley Camping: $85 per person includes:
- 6 horses
- 1 facilitator, 1 volunteer
- All riding equipment
- 24 hours at camp site
- Suggested venues: McDowell, Lost Dutchman, & Cave Creek Parks
- Minimum: 10 campers
Outback Camping: $110 per person includes:
- 6 horses
- 2 Hunkapi Facilitators
- All Riding Equipment
- 24 hours at camp site
Suggested Venues: Sedona, Cottonwood, Payson, Tucson
Week Long Scout Camps: $545 per person includes:
- 5 days and 4 nights
- Please call office for additional information
Optional:
- Hunkapi will supply food for an additional $35 per person/ day
- Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats available at additional charge
- Keep it simple and have Hunkapi book the venue for you. We’ll just add it to your final bill. Prices vary according to site.
